It's unlikely that you will get completely scammed, but there's a good chance that you are buying into an attempt by the Chinese to do some economic manipulation of the American market.
Of course, if the American market was not hideously slanted in favor of the global capitalists, then this wouldn't work. But, surprise, it is in fact working, and it's a bit difficult to blame the consumer for wanting to get cheaper products, as that sort of is the idea of global capitalism (as well as a product of the Western world's zeitgeist: to keep the lower and middle classes entirely dependent on consumerism...they just didn't count on the fact that a foreign power could exploit those classes better than they could, did they?)
