It's efficient but it's not really fun. I've never actually been to one but I lived out of a similarly designed mobile home when I worked for the circus.

They have them at airports, which makes an inordinate amount of sense...and they're certainly better than a flophouse for super-cheap lodging. :)

They always remind me of the sleeping arrangements on the cruise in The Fifth Element.

OK, you've never mentioned working for the circus before. This I gotta hear.

During college, I took a summer job at a traveling circus camp called Circus Smirkus up in Vermont. I applied as an audio engineer but the position was filled and they offered me a job in concessions. I pounded stakes, spun cotton candy, scooped popcorn, and traveled from town to town for over a month. It was the hardest job I ever had but also one of the most interesting.

Continuing to be fascinated by these. This one is in Kyoto and is very slightly more upscale, as these are private, lockable rooms. Of a sort. :eyebrow:

Thread is quite old for resurrection, but hey, who cares... :P

I recently heard of a similar setup here in the states. Tiny rooms that could barely fit a bed.

Loved that movie! lol
I know Japan is famous for coming up with unique ideas with the limited space they have there. While I wouldn't want to do this, they are quite popular if someone just wants to relax, get some sleep, etc.
