If you haven't encountered this app, definitely check it out. It's a mapping - well, reference - app which grids out literally the entire surface of the Earth in roughly 1 or 2 meter squares and gives each square a three-word code...thus, you can find a location without reference to roads, landmarks, or anything like that, even to the point of locations within buildings or larger areas, provided you know the three words associated with that square.
Oddly, the words do not follow a specific pattern; squares next to each other typically have no words or syllables in common. Not sure why this is done, other than to ensure use of the proprietary app. And yes, one could achieve this with longitude and latitude; however, given the degree of accuracy needed with that approach, it becomes shorter and more easily recalled to use three words.

Re: What3words
It's pretty handy, actually - particularly if you aren't really near a street, or aren't near the street of your address. (The convention is to use the square that your front door is in.) For example, the HoCo Brew Hive, where I hold my trivia games, is ///powerful.unusual.wisdom - which is a fantastic address, given that the words are random and meaningless.
