James Cameron had come to Rome to see the film's post-production, but he had spent his entire advance salary on the plane ticket. With no money for food, he just snatched leftovers and rolls from dinner trays in his hotel. Due to exhaustion and malnutrition, he grew ill with fever, and had a nightmare about a metallic torso emerging from an explosion, and dragging itself over the floor with kitchen knives, which gave him the idea for The Terminator (1984).

This one is a bit tricky: the movie isn't actually named for the ride, so it's somewhat up in the air as to how much it's "based on" the ride,, regardless of the article, and it's at Animal Kingdom...but there was a tie-in of some sort, so I would guess it still technically qualifies.

Not so fun fact: I had a friend who stage managed trade shows and worked with Frank Sinatra near the end. He in fact had forgotten most of the words and his blocking and his sense of direction. Poor guy.
