Intense streamer drama in Union Square NYC

Post by scooter »

Well, it's safe to say that this did not go as planned. Large platform YT streamer Kai Cenat was doing a giveaway of some kind of game console when things went completely off the rails. He's now in custody for incitement of a riot.

A report from M0ist Critikal (plus various 24-hour news sources):

This has been another bit of brain shrapnel from...

I'm not familiar with his work as these are the kinds of channels that I avoid. I watch a lot of gamers and vtubers. These prank channels are cringy at best and often criminal at worst. So I really don't know his content. That being said, carrying over an online fanbase into the real world is incredibly dangerous. These things are often poorly planned and can get out of control quickly. It puts Cenat in the same category as incidents like Tanacon and other events where streamers endangered their fans foolishly.
