I had a jailbroken iPad back in the day, but it broke and I haven't owned an Apple device in a while.

I'm sort of including rooted devices for the Android platform...

I have an Android phone, but I have never Rooted it. Android is not as restrictive as IOS in its original form.

I'm still of the opinion that Android devices need to be rooted, for two (related) main reasons: 1) if you buy a device, it should then be yours, no questions asked. 2) I can't get NFL Mobile off my phone, and there is something very wrong with that.

All I can say is your device, your decision. I would jailbreak my apple device, but not my Android. I looked into rooting, and the root apps I could gain did not really interest me. Maybe I'm just being shortsighted though.

I just jailbroke my school iPad with checkra1n, and removed the device management using Filza (of course I backed it up first). At this point I am questioning my existence.

Hopefully you won't get in trouble because it's a school-owned device...

Sorry for necroposting, but I jailbroke my iPhone 3GS on iOS 5.1.1 with Absinthe.
