Time for pretzels?

Post by scooter »

Okay, someone clue me in. What is with the idea that Christmas is the time for chocolate-covered pretzels? There are gift buckets of the things all over the place in grocery stores and even just gift stores which carry other goodies. And you don't really see them that much at other points during the year. Also, these are large buckets of the things - they aren't stocking stuffers.

I think they are piggybacking on the idea of those enormous tubs of popcorn that you only see this time of year.

but this is a total guess.

I guess we could include those as a corollary...I mean, I don't really see enormous tubs of, say, gummy bears or anything.

I prefer the hot soft pretzels. But the bag ones are good in small amounts.

Hot soft pretzels with a little mustard is so nice. For munching, I like the thin Snyders usually. If possible, without salt.
