Developer arrogance

This is so ridiculous. Every time I look on phpBB.com for an extension to add some functionality, there's always a chorus of developers squawking, "Why would you want to do that with it?" Not because they have a better idea on how to do it, but because they personally just don't like the idea, so they're not going to lend any expertise towards doing it. Their own ideas are immediately fast-tracked as integral to the whole design. The arrogance is absolutely maddening.

Right. I was hoping to cultivate this particular space as an alternative to that. Obviously that isn't possible out of the box, but hopefully we can get together a small group of forum administrators who could provide each other with a bit of assistance (that is free of judgment).
