Decline of phpBB.com

Post by [Dimetrodon] »

I still think that phpBB (the software itself) is great for the most part, but it is hard to deny the decline of phpBB.com. Yes, it's at night during the summer, but I am the only human registered human online right now, and it's not like it's an American-centric board either.

I love that a bot appropriated Majestic 12 for its own use.

Legend has it that the bot is there to alert the government if one posts UFO evidence. :P

In all seriousness, it’s some sort of SEO service to help webmasters better promote their sites.

Yeah, I googled it and most of the results were "How do I block this danged thing?". Apparently, sometimes it can be a resource hog.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with UFOs or the number 51 in any way.

Yeah, that guy is one of the worst. And he's highly placed in the hierarchy there, so... :fu:

phpBB.com is such a bad community it's not even funny.

This would be a way-down-the-road thing, and would cost time and money, but it would probably make sense to fork phpBB into something more useful.

Interestingly enough, david63 actually agrees with you that phpBB should be forked. So does 3Di, who is a former team member who got banned recently.
