Updates to the forums!

Post by Atlantic »

[This was edited to add additional information on 15 Nov 2020]

First of all, the phpBB community has released 3.3.2. (Reminder: we are on 3.3.0) It looks like there have been a few security fixes; a developer has described it as "all under the hood", so there are no outward changes to be expected. We will be looking at it over the next few weeks, but there is no hurry. If we need to update things, we will notify all users of an outage window.

Secondly, we have a couple of new modifications in the works. The FAQ, which is available by hitting the question mark in the upper right corner, is being rewritten. This means that a lot of our posts on various "how to do this" items on the forums will be erased and consolidated all in one place. (We had a test page up for a while, but have removed that for now.) This is going to be a project! We'll try to keep you informed on what is happening with this.

Also, we have the capability of adding new and separate pages to the index, which we will use if needed to provide you with additional information on any topic on the forums.

Alright, the FAQ is now done! There might be a few more minor revisions coming up, but we are pretty much settled. There are also links to our posting rules and data security policies directly available from the index page.

Let us know if there are any oversights or suggestions!

EDIT: There are now tutorials on how to post from Dropbox or YouTube. You will find them at the bottom right of the index page.
