Trying to figure out the original Transformers theme

Which leads to an interesting debate in the comments and beyond: given that this was cheap 1984 production (and I mean cheap, even for 1984...there was no idea of this being actual "art" - they were just attempting to sell toys and weren't giving a damn about any form of artistry at all), was this an accidental edit that turned into something, or did they actually intend for it to sound like this? I mean, there is a simple explanation of the intro, given that they wanted it to repeat and just chose that place to make it do so...but then, why repeat the "error" in the outro?
