Every generation of course says that their music was better, and that "today's music" is for shite. I'm no exception, I guess. However, it's never really a fair comparison...hindsight always edits out the terrible crap that somehow got played on the radio back in those days and may have even made it to number one, even though it aged like milk. You end up comparing the best of yesteryear to the first-off-the-rack of today.
I try to avoid that kind of thing, with mixed success. I do like a lot of the music today. Sure, you have to be willing to do a bit of digging for the good stuff, but again, that was always true to some extent.
But then you find something like this.
