You are going to see a lot of tributes to Mr. Loaf in the coming days but I'll post here two bits that probably won't make the highlight real:
Meat Loaf swore that he would never sing on the silver screen again because he wanted to be taken seriously as an actor but he did this small part anyway which really helped kick off a really fun movie.
He was not afraid to poke fun at the dense poetry in his songs (with help from Jim Steinman) here turning a simple song into runaway chaos.

Yeah, this one hurts. I saw ML twice in concert. It was odd because of the music he performed, but he was one of the most human rock stars out there. Yes, he was "bigger than life" in a lot of ways, but there was an underlying vulnerability. He could be funny, poignant, emotional...all in the context of this marvelously grandiose work from Jim Steinman.
