Oh, yeah, way too depressing. You have to put yourself into that fiftyish/rich/tie-wearing/white-guy mode. You want to rock out on your yacht but not upset the other clubbers at the marina while you do it, and you have no idea what an iPod is and have never downloaded anything in your life.

Certainly the most technical and possibly the most musically rewarding yacht rock song? "Aja", Steely Dan. :geek: The chord changes, all those intricate sections, that wonderful sax solo by Wayne Shorter, and that incredible breakdown and drum-bash at the end (Steve Gadd? I don't know...)

My mentor back in Rutgers was a former roadie for Steely Dan. He had a live recording of their concert. Not a mass-produced live album but instead the one he recorded on reel to reel off of the mixing board.
