More unknown artists/lostwave/"mysterious songs"

...and this time it's Brazilian. Or possibly Italian. Something like that.

I'm tagging @KikisIslandLife because of the extremely tentative link to her favorite band. (Although, y'know, I was playing lots of music on the way down south and she didn't know a lot of it...but then again, that has something to do with my weird and omniverous musical tastes more than her).

We have an update on Japan's mysterious song:

Basic upshot: the team doing the research would like to think this is an early demo from a currently popular singer, Takarano Akira, of ALI PROJECT. I would say from listening to it - and the now-discovered, somewhat-related second song - that these are definitely demos...possibly for an advertisement? My guess would be that the singer is probably not at all famous...someone who was trying out a career but ended up having to get a paying job and never getting back to that life again.

Yet another one. This was found as the theme of a VHS company located in Israel in the 80s. (This is a very 80s song.) You know, one of those themes that plays over the five-second-or-so production logos at the beginnings and ends of movies...you get like a full minute of this one, though. The company in this case was named Malibu Video.

I was not aware of a Malibu in Israel.

Not much to answer that particular mystery, it looks like...

Lost media still astonishes me. To think of all the stuff that was erased over time as companies went bankrupt and people either lost or broke their storage devices. It's sad but the fact that we can find any of it is also impressive.

We have at least a partial solution on this one, as of about a month ago. Someone found a 1987 pr0n film entitled Please Don't Stop, which, sure enough, had this song as its theme. (Malibu Video stole it from that source.) That resulted in about 40 more seconds of the song being revealed, and the name of a recording artist: Aladdin's Magic Rub. Those, however, seem to be the only two other revelations...no idea who any of the band members are, or if there is a more complete version anywhere.

More proof that YT kind of sucks: the reason this is unavailable (as of the time of this posting, 1Jul2023) is that somebody did an apparently completely bogus copyright claim on this song, then copyright-struck the channel that posted it. Of course, YT doesn't check this out at all and just complies, meaning that the channel was immediately taken down and the poster will now have to challenge the strikes in court. This is sick crap.
