Wondering on everyone's thoughts on jazzy hip-hop beats. In particular: and
I often listen to these to just get through my day. (may be too dedicated - I have way too many FLACs of these sorts of beats).

Re: Jazz Hip-Hop: opinions?
It's very much in the new "lo-fi beats" genre (and by "new" I mean in the past five years or so). Very, very smooth groove. And it's great to have on as an ambient sound, in the traditional sense of the word - as in, something that's made to be in the background. (The ambient genre concentrates more on electronics to create sound pads.)
Personally, I might like it to be a bit more adventurous, do some melodic experimentation...
In the late 90s, there was a brief fusion genre between jazz and hip-hop, leveraging a lot of the 50s and 60s cool jazz sound. The best known of those was probably Us3 and their re-imagining of "Cantaloupe Lounge" by Herbie Hancock into "Cantaloop (Flip Fantasia)".

This has been another bit of brain shrapnel from...

If you search Jazzhop, Jazz-Hop, or other variations you can still find stuff.

I'm not a huge instrumental guy but I do like stuff like electrojazz, jazz hop, lofi, and whatever. In doing a cursory search on https://www.reddit.com/r/listentothis/ I found a lot of stuff like this that was being rapped over.
