Since Steve has been talking about running a supers game, we should start working on character concepts.
So far I've got a half formed idea. The backstory is of a European style mage (think Christian Cabalist). As the type of magic involves making deals with all sorts of angels and demons, during his life time he sort of messed up and doomed his soul to 'roam the earth' in some fashion, continuous reincarnation with no possibility of the spiritual reward he thinks was his due.
HIs current incarnation is a scientist of some stripe (not really sure what his field is, possibly a forensic expert, or possibly something with a more security systems bent, ideally he'll have at least a few useful skills that other party members lack) Probably in his mid thirties to early forties. Divorced, with limited visitation rights to one child, feeling isolated and unhappy about it. Something[i happened to allow the mage to access the body of the scientist, on some sort of basis. It's all pretty vague so far, except that -
1) the two of them don't really like each other very much,
2) a deal was struck - the scientist lets the mage do his own thing for some portion of the time, in order to do whatever it is he has to do to find peace
3) the mage doesn't screw with things when the scientist has visitation with the kid (and possibly during other important, and negotiated, events).
Other than that there will be occasional battles of will.
Kind of a low powered love child of the Hulk and Doctor Strange.
I'll probably come up with other ideas before long. Anyone else got ideas?

Re: Superhero Gaming
Alright...I have an idea from Liz. I have several from Lise and will have five more by the time that she reads this. Tracy isn't used to having to come up with a backstory for her characters, so we will probably have a character session at some point soon. I promise not to make a lot of Powerpuff Girls jokes.
I need to iron out a few ideas about my world, but there are going to be some things where I'm just going to wing it. In fact, there might be a lot of that. In tone, I am thinking it will be close to the Marvel or DC movies...there will be some serious stuff going on, sometimes very, but it won't necessarily be gritty all the time. (The original idea was that you would all go to a parallel world, Mandela Effect-style, where you would end up with powers, but I don't think I'm going to do that one.) If there is something you think should be in the game world, let me know.

Honestly, I only had two character ideas when you posted that. I'm up to 5 or 6 now.....

Well, we have a hurricane coming in, and poor KikisIslandLife has nonsense happening with her landlord right now, so I think we might try to shoot for Thursday or Friday. I'll let you know which. I think the first session is going to have to be just building characters.

Re: Superhero Gaming
I think that went well.
I haven't gotten the character sheets yet (looking at you, scooter, but I've been thinking about my PO. I Googled 1st and last names which mean Strong. - Audrey does, and is also the 100th most popular girl's name from 2002.
For last name, I'm torn between Carlisle and Ortiz. If Ortiz, her Abuelo came from Puerto Rico or Mexico.....
