So the Friendship Cup kicked off recently in Russia. It's an invitational basketball tournament for national sides, and it started with Russia absolutely crushing Colombia, 155-53. Turns out, however, that there was a small problem.
The Colombian Basketball Federation released a statement yesterday, saying:
- We never got an invite to the Friendship Cup,
- Accordingly, we didn't send anybody to the Friendship Cup,
- We're now pursuing sanctions for using our symbols in the tournament without permission.
