The most popular recording of this on YT is a live recording that the Righteous Brothers (Bobby Hatfield recording solo, really) did on television in 1965 or 1966, and this being Bobby Hatfield, well, to say he nailed it would be a gross understatement. Just take a look at a few of these. I suppose I can forgive some of these, as even Ghost was 30 years ago (damn)...but watching people hear this for the first time is an experience in itself.

But yeah, the live recording of this features Hatfield changing the outro on this and going up to the next octave. It is absolutely jaw-dropping.
